Fiber Laser Cleaning Machine
First option: a continuous wave (CW) fiber laser cleaner that removes rust, paint, oxide and oil.
Second option: a pulsed laser cleaner for delicate parts where heat must stay low.
Continuous wave laser cleaning without chemicals or abrasives
A fiber laser cleaner uses amplified light to strip rust, paint, oxides and oil. Nothing touches or abrades the surface, and with the right settings the base metal is left largely unchanged.
- Eco-friendly process: no chemicals, solvents or blasting media
- Gentle on the part: with settings tested on your material, the base metal is left largely unchanged
- Low running cost: no blasting media or chemicals to buy
- Precise: cleans intricate shapes and small targeted areas
- MASTER X50, X60 and X80 models, from 1500W to 3000W
- Industrial-grade quality with an intelligent control system

What a fiber laser cleaning machine does
A fiber laser cleaning machine uses concentrated light to take rust, paint, oxide layers, oil, grease and other contaminants off materials, mostly metals. It is an efficient, eco-friendly way to prepare a surface. The process is non-contact and non-abrasive. It needs no chemicals, no solvents and no blasting media.
Ascent Lasers Pro offers two types of laser cleaner:
- Continuous wave (CW) cleaners. The MASTER X series comes in 1500W, 2000W and 3000W models for rust, paint, oxide and oil removal.
- Pulsed cleaners. Choose a water-cooled 500W or 1000W handheld system, or the iFOA series. Pulsed cleaning suits delicate parts that need less heat.

The cleaning process, step by step
- The fiber laser source creates a strong, tightly concentrated beam.
- The beam hits the surface with short, fast bursts of energy.
- Rust, paint or oil soaks up that energy. The steel or aluminum underneath reflects it and is not harmed.
- The coating heats up very quickly. It vaporizes, sublimates or expands as plasma, and it comes away from the metal.
Metals reflect much of this laser wavelength, so with the right settings the coating comes off and the base metal is left largely unchanged. Too much power or too many passes can still mark the surface, which is why the settings are tested on your parts. The only waste is a little dust, and a vacuum fume extractor collects it.
Main advantages
- No chemicals or blasting media. The process uses no solvents, sand or grit, so the only waste is what comes off the part. Residue from a hazardous coating, such as lead paint, is still hazardous waste.
- Safe for the base metal. Cleaning stops on its own at the metal surface and leaves the part intact.
- Low running cost. There is no blasting media or chemical to buy. The main running costs are electricity, protective lenses and fume extractor filters, and the machine needs little maintenance, so the cost per hour is low.
- Precise control. You set the parameters for each job. That lets you clean complex shapes, pick a spot size, or treat one small area without masking the surface around it.

Laser safety
In most cases a fiber laser cleaner is a Class 4 laser system. The beam can reflect off metal surfaces. The operator and anyone else nearby must wear laser safety goggles made for the laser's wavelength. All cleaning must happen inside a dedicated, enclosed safety zone. Our laser safety guide covers the basics.
